At least deer flies are slow enough to kill. Those stable flies are quick little SOBs.

Deer flies are back. Round 2. Hopefully this upcoming stretch of dry weather is the end of them. Keep the baseball caps on

We had some deer flies on Lows Lake last week. They were worse when we were on the water. Most of them paid attention to my 6 ft. son-in-law who was wearing a blue baseball cap. They left my 5 ft. 3 in. daughter, who was in the same canoe, alone. They were almost non-existent in camp. Interestingly enough, we had no mosquitoes.
