        Who needs dirt

A forest in the middle of a lake?

I hope they don't want their chain back

Apparently these wasp for some reason stung this tree but couldn't get their stingers out and then later died still stuck like that.

This is when I climbed Ampersand October 2008.

            http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_B2rZXQrmNo...ondacks046.jpg

The one behind that tree is my niece. She was killed this past July when a wrong way driver hit her on Rte. 481N. This past September 2009 we did a memorial for her back at Ampersand. This mountain holds a lot of meaning to me as it was her first time climbing and she was excited, anticipating doing another one this past Autumn.

                  Yes it was actually.

Adding to the craziness, is this sign is barely visible from the road and about a mile away from Crane Pond.

I bet most people on the way to Crane Pond miss it and nobody would be walking in the wood there,

Not to mention, even if you did see it from the road, who is going to stop there, a mile or more away from any body of water, to read the details of the Live Bait Ban.

This was taken last October, it's the result of a large Beaver dam. The Beaver apparently decided to spare one tree that was in the middle of his pond.

                    Let me guess again...
Is that one taken from just off of the Pillsbury Lake/Cedar Lakes trail?

Nope. It's the North Fork Boquet River just off the path to East Dix. This is just past the Shoebox swimming hole/flumes.

And more craziness, I guess this counts. When searching my photos yesterday I noticed this (I didn't notice it before) up in the trees, the photo was taken on a very foggy day recently on South Boquet Mountain where I was just snapping pictures of the woods.

Actual photo size of the thing

and if you want the Full Size unaltered Photo here

At first I thought it was just snow on the lens somehow, but looking at it you as you can see it's between branches where as if it were snow on the lens it would be in the foreground only.

And if it's a snowball, I don't know how it's being held up by the tree branch(s) like that.

1894 - May I ask? Why do you use an IP identifier in your signature? Does it have some sort of significance?

I ask because I've only seen something like that on websites, for the benefit of the website owner, so to speak.

                            btw - nice photos.
