Uber shuttle?

Used Uber for first 2 times on vacation in Orlando FL. Great experience.

So if I go to and put in New Russia and Keene Valley as pick up/drop off locations Uber says there is currently a driver 5min away and the trip would cost me $19-$25.

I tried Northville to Piseco and no drivers were available at this time.

My questions:
  • Anyone use Uber for a shuttle between trail heads in the ADK's yet?
  • Other places (I would think some App Trail sections are prime for this)?
  • Anyone up that-a-ways driving for Uber?
  • Am I right in thinking the former NLPT shuttle is defunct?

I would think I'd park at destination and have Uber shuttle back to start.

One big hazard would be availability - these folks usually do not have set schedules and also have other fares. But if you knew your Uber driver you could arrange to be first fare of the day.

Just thinking of how nice it would be to hike over Giant and RPR without having to re-climb one. Also the NLPT and lower New England sections of Appalachian Trail.
