Fishing Tackle.

Hello all! I'm planning a fishing trip this May, probably mid May, and would like to know what fishing tackle would be best to try? I'm planning to fish the St Regis, Green Pond, Little Long, and maybe one other. Just trying to get an idea of what to use. Some questions that come to mind would be recommended rod length, line type and lbs, recommended bait, fishing techniques and tips? Best time of day to fish? Trolling? Casting? What do you all recommend. What have you had luck on in the past in there? Thank you!

well the answers to your questions are basic answers for basic questions. nothing specific to the location your looking to go. You will be fishing for trout so a lighter rod, traveling through portages so maybe something smaller. Once again fishing for trout use lighter line 6lb or less. Most st regis does not allow minnows so only limited to worms. Water temps in the spring are cooler. Trout like roughly 50 deg temps and that time of year the water is closest to that in the pm. Like I said before these answers are basic answers for your questions. A simple trout fishing tips search in google will answer most of your questions. Now as for the nitty gritty you wont get anything out of anyone here on special lures sacred spots and tricks of the trade. Especially in the st regis canoe area and trout species in specific. we tend to not post anything on the forums like this to prevent over fishing and the whole world seeing where to go and what to do.
