Do you have a link to a photographic example that is similar to the one JohnnyVirgil posted?

I searched for "Linyphiidae web" and the resulting images look more gauzy and cloth-like as opposed to cellophane. They look more like this photo (albeit finer and more gauzy). I saw it in the Sentinel Range and the dome-shaped web was created by a Filmy Dome Spider (well, that's my best guess).

Yes, I did a little digging after he mentioned that and found the same thing. Nothing that looked like that. The thing I thought looked like a spider is maybe a seed pod of some sort?

Their are more than 4,300 described species. Everyone spins a bit different web... I suspect these webs are from last fall having survived the winter snow pack with some structural changes... but I certainly could be wrong.
