No Fox, dowsing works in all kinds of hunts. In fact I surprised there's not already a thread here just on ADK dowsers. The renown dowsers Ted Kaufman and Bruce Irwin are well known in the dowsing world. Local guys, not new age mystics by any means. Mr. Kaufman found my neighbor at the bottom of Lake George in pin point accuracy. Meanwhile, the police were looking for him in New Jersey. With his associate Bruce Irwin they found a body, thick in the woods when rangers, police with dogs couldn't. And this is with map dowsing. Holding a pendulum over a map. My brother learned to dowse from Bruce Irwin and he is very talented. My brother lives in the desert and is often asked to find water for well drilling.

According to NBC News they got the second one. Shot, wounded, but alive.

Glad to hear it's over and life can start to return to normal for folks in that area, and for the hundreds of cops, troopers, federal agents and forest rangers that have been pulled in for the manhunt.

Must have been the dowsers, eh?

Glad it's over. These guys were pretty bad apples.

Sheer numbers and a little luck worked out in the end. It's a bit premature to say no casualties though. Give it about a month to be sure. Assuming they preyed on seasonal cabins there could still be a body somewhere. Fortunately at this time of year most are unoccupied. Let's hope it really is a miracle no one got hurt. These guys had nothing to lose.

They were in Owls Head where two friends of mine are year round residents. Any seasonals should have opened camp on Memorial Day..at least around here thats the way it works. People come up for the summer later in June after the worst of bug season is (usually) past.

Well, it's guaranteed to be better than Lifetime's version of the story, which was unwatchable.

The real killer on the roads in the ADK's is salt.
Spread by the tons on roadways and leaching into our streams and wells.
