Does anyone know if West River Road to Whitehouse is still closed?

I was wondering the same thing, Schip! Thought about possibly car camping there next weekend since I will be on my own...guess that will wait!

Have you ever checked out the HRSMA?
Just be warned though...like Whitehouse, with the easy car camping access it also receives lots of car camper traffic & thus receives lots of overuse & abuse such as litter, & illegal tree cutting, etc.

Haven't checked out HRSMA but I do have the maps, thank you for the suggestion though! I ended up off Route 8 near Cod Pond, some decent car camping sites there, surprisingly quiet after 9pm.
