Eagle Kills Osprey in Maine

Here's an amazing video of a bald eagle taking out an immature osprey somewhere up in Maine. A two part deal for the eagle - he/she gets a meal and also removes future competition in one swoop, so to speak.

Pretty amazing footage Regis. What amazed me was the resounding thump when the eagle grabbed the osprey & it didn't even appear to slow down. I notice a 2nd eagle in the flic. Wonder if they were teaming up.

Has anyone seen the footage of eagles getting a meal by knocking mountain goats off cliffs? Awesome footage of nature "red in tooth and claw".
The best, the most successful adventurer, is the one having the most fun.

Awesome! I have seen an eagle snatch a loon baby backriding on its mother here at home.

EagleCrag, I think the second bird was one of the osprey parents trying to thwart the eagle's attack.
