The Boat House Restaurant on Mirror Lake Drive in Lake Placid is right on the lake. It has great food and a great view of Mirror Lake and the village.

The Crown Plaza dining room has a view of the mountains.

For something more casual, try the Cottage, also on Mirror Lake Drive. A window seat will overlook Mirror Lake and the Mountains beyond.

For the best view from a restaurant, it's the Moose Lodge Boathouse Restaurant (part of the Whiteface Club & Resort) on Whiteface Inn Rd. The view looks directly across Lake Placid at Whiteface Mt. I believe it is open only from Memorial Day through the summer season but if you are here in the summer, it's the best spot for a view while eating a meal.

There's also the Hungry Trout, halfway between Lake Placid & Wilmington on 86. It has a dining room with picture windows looking at the Ausable River & Whiteface.
