Looking forward to doing this trip the first week of Oct. Any advice? I have canoed up the O river from Inlet many times and it is an absolutely wonderfull area. I can not wait to get up there again only about 6 weeks to go!!

I did this in 2006, great trip but one thing that sticks in the mind was a set of wrecked portage wheels at the Oswegatchie end, so I reckon someone did not quite make it all the way with the wheels

I mount my K-2 on a back pack full frame backpack with the the all the cloth pack materials removed. If it is a short carry I lash my dry bags to the frame. I also have a 3/16 line draped bow to stearn to control the boat angle. (The kayak only is attached at two points, - port and starboard gunnels.) 70 lbs with nice padded shoulder straps and a nice waist/hip belt and can go on rolling terrain for well over 30 min. It is tricky to get the backpack on.

kayaks
A friend and confirmed kayaker wants to do this with me. We figured on making a carry strap setup for each end of his kayak and carrying it double. We would be multi-tripping of course. I prefer "poseing" it to break up the carry.
