Limekiln Lake/ Cedar River Road

Does anyone know if the Cedar River Road is permanently closed? There is a Ranger cabin and a gate at the start of it by the Cedar River Flow. I was told the road was permanently closed because there is no funding for a Ranger. I was hoping to drive back into Moose River Plains and camp at one of the roadside sites on the old road. Thanks,
Oh I'd rather go and journey where the diamond crest is flowing...

The moose river plains road is open with the exception of the rock dam road branch. Plenty of campsite options available now. See DEC website for maps and details.

MRP road

I drove in yesterday (Monday) from Wakeley dam. Road has some bumps but the 12 miles I did could be handled by any car (slow where visible rocks).

I did walk around a few spots and biked into Lost Ponds. Bugs were not bad and DEET worked. I canoe camped on CRF and bugs were not an issue. I met locals who said that black flies were done in Indian lake.

Very few drive in sites occupied (Monday noon).
