Saranac River System 8/22

I needed to get out.

Left at 10 am.

Tried some new spots. Chubs, but beautiful water. Remote. No traffic noise.

Tried hoppers all day. Ant dropper, too. Hoppers everywhere and fish sipping.

Worked down stream. Ended up at my buddy's new property.

Nice brown there on the usual stimulator. Water temp is 62. SWEEET!

Nice picture, Al. The "usual stimulator"? What colors work best for you? Looks like maybe a #10 in the photo?

I use yellow poly yarn with brown hackle on the body and pink dubbing and griz on the head. That is actually a #12, though I do prefer 8's and 10's, because the water is skinny in that stretch and holds brookies. 10 is a t-bone they can take in one bite.

Color and sizes aside, I and confident the real skill to stimulator fishing is getting a drift with the eye up-stream.
