Need a breakfast place east of Watertown

My family's annual trip to Saranac Lakes area has a traditional breakfast-stop at Walts Diner in Old Forge. This year, we need to take the northern route (Watertown to Tupper). Does anyone have any recommendation for a breakfast place for a family (with hungry mid/late-teen boys)? I'm thinking that somewhere along Route 3 between the east side of Watertown and Cranberry Lake area would be ideal.

Theres a spot popular with the guys from ft drum. Their club sandwich is good, I cant speak to the breakfasts as the management has changed since I have had bfast there. It was/is called the golden unicorn or something.

Have a true trout tale about Ft Drum from the good ole days when I was stationed there TDY before I went across the pond but I don't want to hijack this thread.

The Chatterbox Diner in Carthage is a good inexpensive place. Right on Bridge Street the main drag in downtown.

There's a small diner in Harrisville you might try. Take a right just after the bridge in town on Rt 3. Diner is first building on your right..parking in lot across the street.
