1/3 of a mile and Pulpit Rock State Forest is a possibility. Not great. There is Santway Park in Theresa which allows free camping, and short walk to a bar. :)

Possibly not since Biden announced today US is not opening to non-essential Canadian travelers. Extended closure to August 21. (I'm thinking that will change before August 21.)

Not particularly backpacker friendly but I was amazed that many coolers are IGBC approved. I've always hung while canoeing and have not backpacked in areas where bears are an issue.
