No issues with deer flies during the day....

No issues with deer flies during the day. Mosquitos were not too bad either despite all of the standing water. Only issue we had were some loud campers at the campground, but it was a Friday night.

I was not able to find any articles about a more recent fire, but I did find a picture of Huckleberry in Barbara McMartin's Old Roads and Open Peaks and there are no dead trees along the cliff line....

I think that both sides of the island where North Pond meets the main part of Putnam Pond are pretty shallow. Lots of weeds to deal with, seems pretty popular with the fishermen.
