I do..it helps if your pan fits inside to speed cook. Otherwise you need a bigger fire (more time on wood collection or use biobricks) and it can get too hot inside the tent. Cook much smaller...

Silver Lake Wilderness

Have any of you ever tried fishing Silver Lake in Hamilton County? The lake with the current state record brook trout from 2013...

Some will say the record wasn't really caught in Silver Lake......

Putnum Pond Loop

Took a solo loop around the Putnum Pond area with a Hornbeck.
Fun place for some canoe travel to a few pretty ponds and a peak.

It's nice to have dry wood and be able to relax and fish at camp. Can take a long time to process dead n down wood at a popular camping spot.
Steak looked perfect.

Recreational use is still illegal in New York State and we had no medical necessity unless buck fever counts.

I use backcountry navigator app on smart phone and predownload the maps. The phone has a gps that works in airplane mode. I think you just need to keep it on entering area so it continues to function...
