Ed Tuthill was the first seasonal ranger at Pharoah back in the mid 60's, right after the state cabin was built.
If I remember correctly, Ed was from Crown Point.

The "old time" name for Wintergreen point was "Ackermans' Rock", told to me by the first seasonal ranger at Pharoah back in the mid 60's.
Could be that Old Ackerman came to visit.

Walleye fishing always slows in the late summer, the best bet is to go nocturnal.
The Union Falls impoundment on the Saranac River has a pretty good walleye population...
