I think I'll go with my wife and we'll paddle to Kelly Point. Maybe overnight. A good way to avoid crowds might be to go at the height of black fly season. Might not be good for the marriage! :-)

We do two-trip carries and when carrying the canoe I wear a soft pack of no more than 40 liters. On the trip without the boat I carry a 60 liter barrel in it's own harness.

We had new seats put in our canoe but there is a problem in that they are too narrow and you often find yourself sitting on the wooden bar, which is a pain in the butt. We plan on changing the seats...
