I'm guessing they will filter in from PA. There are periodic elk sightings in southwest NY. Maybe they will eventually work their way to northern NY

I'm sure there are a lot of factors involved, but I wonder how long it takes for the macroinvertebrate prey base to recover from pond reclamation. I'm guessing ponds that are close to other waters...

Native species of trout (i.e. brookies and lakers) are fall spawners. Brown trout are as well. Rainbows, however, do spawn in the spring. Regardless, that gush of acid snow melt is a bad deal for sure
