If anything you buy has more than one hook, remove it!

BTY: Removing fish from hook is "in the act" of fishing.

As long as your son is doing catch and release as a normal practice, he might as well remove the barb from the hook in order to both prevent damage to the fish and make it easer to remove the hook....
