Finally found it after a couple of unsuccessful attempts. It is not as picked over as most crash sites in the ADK.

Yes that is also what I learned today. Still owned by the state just shut down. Too bad it's a 1930's era building when the state was strategically placing it's ranger force in areas around the park....

They actually didn't carry it all out. They removed portions for examination during the investigation, they then dynamited the remaining wreckage and buried it in the crater created from the impact....
