I ordered and tried on three Baffin boots from which I would choose one for winter. I got the Selkirk and Wolf which have two straps for cinching down the boot. I thought that system seemed better than tying laces. I also got the Snow Monster as an alternative which is a traditional lace-style boot.

Hands down, the Snow Monster works best for me. It felt far more comfortable, is a few inches lower making it easier to hike with, can be tightened so it hugs my leg, has a d-ring to attach a gaiter, has a removable liner, is rated to -96F, and weighs 2.6lbs /boot. There is one annoying feature...the laces are very long so when you tighten the boots, the laces have to be tucked under so they don't flop around. Other than that, I'm thrilled with them.

I'll also order the Borealis and see how it feels. If it is comfortable, I'll use it for the shoulder seasons.
