Many ADK peaks: Sawyer, Phelps, Baxter, Allen, Hadley, Lyon, Kane, Colden, Marshall, Porter, Moxham etc
Also village names: Tupper, Saranac, Jay, Keene, Newcomb, Hudson, Placid, etc Then there's all those lakes and ponds..... |

I had a professor who's ADK black lab was named Lutra.
Perfect name for a lab.

My son had got a chocolate lab pup named Saranac who grew into a huge powerful monster of a dog that couldn't be handled. He would tear up the house whenever left alone. Saranac ended up going to a police academy as a working dog.
