SAddleback, Gothics, Pyramid, Armstrong & UWJ - 8/24/13
Leesa wanted to do this loop Saturday to gather the lower Great Range for her 46 (she already has LWJ). We got to the Garden at 5:30 and got a parking spot. There were still a half dozen available.
We chose a counter-clockwise loop starting at Saddleback. Once we got up on the Range Trail we saw lots of people all day long. It was a perfect day. I talked her into taking the short side trip to Pyramid where we made our first stop for some food. We had Pyramid to ourselves, but had lots of company on all the Range Trail peaks. The trail conditions everywhere were great. No mud on this loop. It was a challenge carrying Rev down the ladder on Armstrong. I forgot to bring the new harness. I had her about 2/3 of the way down when she had had enough and jumped to the ground, none the worse for wear. We were in no hurry on this day and made lots of stops. The entire loop ended up taking exactly 12 hours. Beautiful day out. No ice cream at JBL but I got a piece of chocolate cake ![]() Pics and more details here.
