Fatbike
I have got to get one of those snowbikes soon! Anyone had the pleasure of riding one yet?

adventure travel
This was from a trip two years ago. about 15 miles into a 20 mile loop the snowmobile track ended. I was able to make it to this lake where I rode on the ice for a couple miles and got close to a road. The road added another few miles and I finished in the dark.

Are the tires 26 or 28 inch and what's the width. They look cool! Kudos to anyone that rides in snow. At my age I won't go out below 50F.

Very nice. Looks like a new start for winter activities. Many web sites available for expedition type travels. New York needs to have a winter race like Alaska and Minnesota. Maybe like a two day or 3 day expedition type race through the wilderness and parts of rural roads. The racers would need to stay in tents or established backwoods cabins, sorta like the Iditirod.
Something to think about!

the Moonlander tires are around 5"wide on 100mm rims... no experience with these... check Surly.com and mtbr.com for resources..

I have a Pugsley as well. Ride it all year long - dirt trails, srowmobile trails, whatever. I love it! Hey, what Riosacandaga, what brand/model is your rear rack?

Old Man Mountain.. I don;t remember the model. I think it was a prototype as they sent me a few sets of mounting hardware ... they've got them dialed in now. great rack. packed my chainsaw on it... all kinds of loads... very sturdy.

I first saw a "fatbike" earlier this year, and instantly got ideas for all kinds of new adventures! I rode a fatbike for the first time last week and once you go fat you'll not want to go back! I live at the beach most of the year and summer up at the dacks. I got a wonderful beach adventure ride ahead of me, but still working out the details. For the dacks there logging roads and railroads, and lots of map planning sessions ahead!
