Scenes from a pleasant evening in the Pigeon Lake Wilderness this weekend...

...or at least as pleasant as the black flies would allow.

In that first picture it looks like you're drying out your boots. Is there a story behind that?

Of course there's a story! It involves me trying to give you a hand moving a log off a beaver dam, my foot slipping, and me falling up to my stomach in Sucker Brook.

By the way, the water's great, folks!

I guess you could call this a campsite. More like where we dropped when it got too dark to bushwhack.

Nothing wrong with car camping. This pic from the Cranberry Lake State campground. Used as a base for day hikes.

One from this winter

First attempt at posting a picture. Hope this works. Here is a campsite at Elizabeth Point on 13th Lake.

My messy little corner of the Silver Lake Lean-to on a rainy evening while hiking the NPT between Benson & Piseco in Oct 2007.

spring08 Lilypad trip

Note to self... when making a first trip out in April and it's 80 degrees, don't expect snow to be gone in PMWA(north sides). Oh yeah, and bring appropriate foot wear.

Happy now WOBBLER?

P.S. First post! Figured I'd start with the worst and it could only get better.

Opportunity smiled on a second camping trip this week...

I snuck out yesterday afternoon for a "quickie" at Middle Settlement Lake in the Ha-de-ron-dah Wilderness. Don't regret a second of it!
