Route feasibility
How does this sound for a route?
Start Whitney Ranger Station, paddle across Little Tupper and wack to Stoney Pond into Slim Pond, Big Brook, and into Long Lake paddle north into Raquette River, Tupper to South Bay, carry the Roud Lake trail back up to Whitney? |

Sounds great but the Stoney & Slim parts are private - I've seen Stoney in winter & have always wanted to do Slim.
Have done Big Brook Rt.30 to LL in early May high water with some rapids - fun but too boney in summer. |

I’ve had my eye on slim since 1974...
Someday maybe If you’re looking for an adventurous through route consider Essex chain to the chain drain the the rock and cedar rivers to clear pond and out In the fall the last carry is much shorter All those waters are still good paddling late in the season |
