Anyone know if they plan to open if snow cooperates? I miss the place...

I last skied it in March of 2015...
A bunch of us would skin it in those years when it was closed. Pretty sure they didn't open at all last year. I've been skiing there since 1979...
Ever tried Plattekill? Very similar to Hickory. Cheap, steep, minimal grooming, open slope policy (ski anywhere you want, drag yourself to an open trail if injured)

I've heard it said many times, if you could ski Hickory, you could ski anywhere!
Got me to thinking, and looking through my old slides (now scanned to digital).

Here's a pic from a particularly challenging day...and yes, most of the mountain looked just like this. Some of those death platters were loose, some were firmly frozen in place, the only way to tell one from another was to ski it!

Runout from Ridge Run on a busy day that started with 2-1/2 feet of fresh (and no, he didn't save it!)

Yours truly on a perfect spring day (and yes, I still look exactly like that, in my memory)
