Wow, I am surprised at how green it is. It looks as though those trees around lake nearly have full leaves.

Same day, southern NY. Almost no budding.

Yes, there is a lot of green around Pharaoh Lake ... but those are all pine trees. None of the hardwoods were budding, and I spotted only one kind of flower in bloom.

Oh OK. It is hard to tell from the picture if those are conifers or deciduous trees just starting to leaf up. The light green tone made me think it was fresh growth but I would have been surprised to see it earlier up there than down south.

Matter 'o fact just a couple days has done wonders though. That warm weather and rain has really brought everything to life.

You are a very good photographer Bill. I agree with hobbitling who said that last photo on your original post could be a magazine cover, probably for Eureka or something. Its good to see that you have pictures in both the winter and the summer. You are obviously a avid and dedicated camper. I really like the pictures with your dog.

Thanks. That photo from French Point Mountain was from 2006, and I think I did use it in Adirondack Sports & Fitness magazine at one point. I don't recall that it was on the cover, though!

Justin,

Nice pic. It breaks my heart, though. I have a yeller Lab at home who is 14.5 years old. He is in good health for his age, but his hiking days are over. I wish I could take him on one more trip, but the window is closed.

Enjoy your dog!

Saw your name in the PHR Register Sat AM. Figured you'd be at Middle Lake. Looks like you had a good time.

The visuals may LOOK peaceful, but there were actually a bunch of girls in the 8-to-10 age range on the island campsite. On the one hand I was glad to see them having fun on a backcountry campout. On the other hand, they were still playing hide-n-seek when I went to bed at 10 pm. I forgot how much shouting was involved in that game...

That was the one near Arietta. Indeed a very nice lake with several nice sites.
